Licensing & Commercial
Everything we make is protected. Individual / personal use is free. Companies get a license — or nothing.
The two lanes
| Hobbyist | Commercial | |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Individuals, personal projects | Companies, orgs, paid products |
| Cost | Free | Written license required |
| What you get | Use, modify for personal use, attribution required | Whatever the contract says |
| What you never get | Redistribution, resale, removal of notices | — |
Never allowed without written permission
- Redistributing or re-uploading our software, sites, or docs.
- Corporate / internal-company use without a license.
- Bundling our work into a paid product.
- Reselling our work, or claiming it as your own.
- Removing copyright, license, or attribution notices.
- Using our brand, logos, or mascot in a way that implies endorsement.
Buying a product outright
Websites, tools, and repos are for sale. Delivery: a zip of the codebase + database + 1 year of support. No domain transfers — we don't own domains. Full details on Buy a Studio Product →
Frequently asked licensing questions
Can I use your code in my open-source project?
If the project is personal/non-commercial: yes, with attribution. If it's distributed commercially or inside a company product: you need a written license.
Can I fork a public repo and keep it?
Forking for personal study is fine. Re-publishing the repo under your name, or shipping it in a product, is not — unless licensed.
Can my company use SoundLink internally?
Internal corporate use counts as commercial use. Contact the CEO for a license: +31 6 39420421.
What counts as "attribution"?
A visible credit line: "Powered by DXN1 Studios" or similar, linking to the studio. In code, keep the license header intact.
Enforcement
Unlicensed use gets a request to stop and remove. Continued unlicensed use may result in a DMCA takedown (see DMCA →), a cease-and-desist, or legal action. We're a small studio — licensing is how we exist. Please don't make us lawyers.
Buying instead of licensing
If you want full ownership rather than a license, see Buy a Studio Product → — codebase + database + 1 year support, delivered as a zip.
