Sonderr
A privacy-first AI workspace with Web3 capabilities. Install locally in one command. Work from localhost — your machine, your models, your data. Engineering is the core product; Web3 is an opt-in toolset.
Install in one command
Requirements: Node.js 20 or newer, npm, and Git. No sudo, ever.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dxn111/sonderr/main/install.sh | sh
sonderr
The installer downloads the latest main source, installs it under ~/.local/share/sonderr-v1.5 and links the sonderr command under ~/.local/bin. When reinstalling over a recognized Sonderr install, the previous folder is preserved as a timestamped backup. Review install.sh before running it if you want to inspect the installer first.
The terminal is only the launcher
Run sonderr and a local runtime starts on your machine, serving the web workspace at http://127.0.0.1:4173 and opening your browser automatically. There is intentionally no separate "AI CLI" experience — the web interface is the product surface. If port 4173 is busy, Sonderr moves to the next available local port; use sonderr --no-open to skip the browser or sonderr --port 4300 to pick your own.
sonderr → local runtime → http://127.0.0.1:4173
What you get
Free AI models, no API key
Kilo Gateway is the default provider — pick a free-tagged model and start instantly. Anonymous use is rate-limited; adding a Kilo API key unlocks the broader catalog.
Sonderr-v1 local model
Our first small language model — 0.6B parameters, specialized for the Sonderr environment. On compatible Linux x64 systems the installer offers a SHA-256-verified local download; inference runs on your machine, fully offline.
Ask · Plan · Build · Vision
Four task modes. Ask stays read-only, Plan is mutation-limited, Build handles real changes, and Vision understands images — screenshots, charts, OCR — with built-in image generation and editing.
Real engineering tools
Workspace mapping, bounded reads, exact in-place patches, project checks and terminal access behind approval levels. Composer shortcuts: /audit, /health, /plan, /verify, /security, /docs.
Artifacts & uploads
Finished files land as artifact cards with a live preview panel — markdown, code, JSON, CSV tables and images. Upload from device, clipboard or drag & drop; images switch Sonderr into Vision mode.
65 skill playbooks
Handwritten expert playbooks across engineering, data, product, security, quality, Web3 and operations. Sonderr loads the right one on demand and unloads it when the workflow ends.
Studios, Plugin Hub & rooms
Sonderr Studios for website and app projects with a sandboxed preview canvas, a Plugin Hub with Sites and Code Review workflows, and collaboration rooms with a lead plus up to three read-only AI workers.
Optional Web3, opt-in always
Local EVM and Solana wallets with encrypted backups, direct Uniswap V3 swaps on Base/Ethereum mainnet, and a visual trading desk — every transfer needs an explicit confirmation card. Experimental, by design.
Security first
Secret scrubbing at every output boundary, workspace sandboxing with symlink protection, DNS-pinned web fetches and required release updates with automatic rollback. See the security docs.
Required release updates
Starting with v1.5.10, the standard managed install checks the official GitHub Releases endpoint when the workspace starts. A newer stable release blocks the workspace until it is installed — choose Install update & restart and Sonderr downloads the exact release tag, installs its locked dependencies, backs up the previous folder and restarts on the same port and workspace. If anything fails, the updater restores and restarts the previous install. Update diagnostics live in ~/.sonderr/update.log with owner-only permissions. Development checkouts are exempt.
Honest open source
Sonderr is MIT-licensed and ships in the open. The source, the installer and every release live in the public repository — check the repo, read the changelog and review the installer before running it. That is the deal, and we like it that way.
